SENIOR ASSOCIATE
(CORPORATE M&A)

Job Description
​
You will be involved with a full spectrum of cross-border corporate M&A and transactional work, particularly in sectors associated with technology, life-sciences or innovative industries. We usually act as Singapore counsel, working with International Counsel or other top-tier Asian law firms, for acquirers. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a broad range of corporate transactional documents including Share Purchase Agreements, Asset Purchase Agreements, Restated and Amended Shareholders’ Agreements and ancillary documents.

Key responsibilities include:

You will also be involved in supporting the Directors (i.e., Equity Partners) in supervising deals and matters that they bring in, and mentoring more junior lawyers.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to new business development and growth initiatives through participation in strategic projects with high business impact and visibility.

Key requirements include:

At least 8-10 years' experience in top-tier Singapore or international law-firm, or solid experience in-house in these Practice Areas.

Professional admission in at least one of the following jurisdictions: Singapore, Malaysia, England & Wales, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada.

Excellent academic background.

Strong knowledge of law, and keen commercial judgement.

Significant experience in managing and executing large volumes of work

Excellent technical skills with a practical approach to problem-solving.

Ability to handle pressure and work to challenging deadlines.

Excellent English communication, both verbal as well as written.

Ability to work in a multi-cultural and collegiate law-firm environment, and to work both autonomously and as part of a team as and when required.
