SENIOR ASSOCIATE (BANKING & FINANCE)

Job Description

​

Collyer Law LLC is looking for a Senior Legal Associate to undertake a heady mix of legal work involving general banking transactions (including corporate finance, acquisition, and leveraged finance), venture debt, and debt restructuring, to join a boutique Singapore law firm. The team includes 2 Directors with experience at leading international law firms and 8 fee-earners.

Key responsibilities include:

​

In this role, you will provide legal support to existing clients of Collyer Law LLC, for both lenders (large Asian /regional banks and financial institutions) to borrowers (multinational companies, technology entrepreneurs, and family businesses).

​

· You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a broad range of financing and security documents and advising on financial services regulatory matters. The work we undertake is often cross-border in nature and may involve other legal professionals through our international network.

​

· You will also have the opportunity to contribute to new business development and growth initiatives through participation in strategic projects with high business impact and visibility.

Key requirements include:

​

· At least 5+ years’ PQE working in a Banking and Finance team, ideally at a top-tier Singapore or international law firm, or solid experience in-house at a leading bank or financial services firm.

​

· Professional admission in at least one of the following jurisdictions: Singapore, Malaysia, England & Wales, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada.

​

· Excellent academic background.

​

· Strong knowledge and understanding of banking & finance laws and financial services regulatory environment.

​

· Significant experience drafting, negotiating, and managing banking and finance transactions.

​

· Excellent English communication, both verbal as well as written.

​

· Ability to work in a multi-cultural and collegiate law-firm environment, and to work both autonomously and as part of a team as and when required.

​

· Excellent technical skills with a practical approach to problem-solving.

​

· Ability to handle pressure and work to challenging deadlines.

​

· A desire and ability to grow, both as a Banking & Finance Lawyer and to assume a leading role.

 

We are ideally looking for a full-time lawyer, however, we are open to supporting flexibility, and would be happy to discuss what arrangements would work best for you.
