Ashley is an intellectual property and data privacy lawyer based in Singapore.

 

She specialises in both contentious and non-contentious aspects of intellectual property law. She has represented both MNCs and SMEs across various industry sectors in high profile dispute resolution matters before the Singapore Trade Marks Registry and the Singapore Supreme Court*. She also assists clients with negotiations of co-existence agreements and out-of-court settlements.

 

Ashley also advises on the non-contentious aspects of intellectual property. She has expertise in matters relating to intellectual property registration, commercialisation and enforcement in the region, including in Southeast Asia, Indian Sub-continent and Greater China. She regularly advises on licensing, franchising, assignments, distribution and other intellectual property agreements.

 

Ashley is experienced in commercial advisory work relating to intangible assets, as well as privacy and data protection. Her work in this area includes advising on terms of use, data protection / privacy policies, confidential and non-disclosure agreements, employment contracts, shareholders / joint ventures / partnerships agreements and other related agreements.

 

Ashley graduated from the National University of Singapore, where she was awarded the Kent Ridge Undergraduate Scholarship. Prior to joining the firm, she practised intellectual property law at a leading law firm.

Interests As a strong supporter of the local arts scene, Ashley is a contributing author to the legal handbook for the creative industry, entitled “Advocates for the Arts”, which is published by the Law Society Pro Bono Services. Ashley has a keen interest in emerging technologies as much as emerging cafes / bars / restaurants.
