Area of Expertise


Aditya’s practice focuses on private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and commercial contracts. He has advised multiple private equity funds, strategic investors, public and private target companies or sovereign wealth funds on a range of cross-border PE and M&A transactions.


Prior to joining Collyer Law, Aditya was a part of the general corporate practice of a premier law firm in India, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. in Mumbai, where he advised clients across a range of industries, with a focus on technology-enabled businesses, including in sectors such as e-commerce, manufacturing, logistics, food and beverages, news, digital media, online gaming, digital payments and online B2C and B2B retail businesses.


Aditya has extensive experience on advising on the company side as well, including leading tech companies in India, such as, Flipkart and Paytm (One97 Communications). He has also worked as a secondee with the M&A team at Flipkart handling their strategic investments and commercial arrangements.


When not working, Aditya enjoys long distance running and open water swimming



Representative Experience

  • Advising Flipkart Private Limited, Singapore,* on its acquisition of 10.37% stake by CPP Investment Board PMI-2 Ltd, Waverly Pte. Ltd., Gamvest Pte. Ltd. and SVF II Falcon (DE) LLC as the lead investors, along with several other minority investors for US$ 3 billion.

  • Advising Wal-mart* and Flipkart* on their commercial agreements and multiple rounds of investments (totalling approx. US$ 150 million) in online agri-tech and fresh foods supply platform, Ninjacart.

  • Advising Flipkart* on its acquisition of online retail pharmacy and medical appointments booking platform, Sastasundar, in the health-tech sector in India.

  • Advising Flipkart* on its commercial agreements relating to its US$ 60 million investment in online logistics services provider, Shadowfax Technologies Private Limited.

  • Advising Flipkart* in its joint venture and commercial arrangement with Ace Turtle Commerce Private Limited in relation to expanding the presence of Toys R Us and Babies R Us brands in India.

  • Advising Paytm* (One97 Communications Limited) in relation to its multiple fund-raising rounds of over US$ 1 billion from Alibaba and SoftBank.

  • Advising Paytm* (One97 Communications Limited) in its minority investment in digital payments services company, Avenues Payments India Private Limited.

  • Advising Paytm* (One97 Communications Limited) in its acquisition of the online ticketing and events aggregation business of Little Internet and Nearbuy for US$ 300 million.

  • Advising Blackstone* on its acquisition of Comstar Automotive Technologies for US$ 125.6 million. - Blackstone* on its exit from Trans Maldivian Airways for US$ 500 million.

  • Advising National Investment and Infrastructure Fund* (India’s sovereign wealth fund) in its joint venture with DP World (Dubai-based port operator) to invest in infrastructure projects.

  • Advising Karvy Computershare Private Limited* (financial technology services company) on the acquisition of a majority stake in it by General Atlantic.

  • Advising Star Agribazaar Technology Limited* in structuring its e commerce agri-trading platform.

  • Advising the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India* in the legal structuring and drafting of certain agricultural reform legislations enabling digital trading of agricultural products.
